Location: Inokasira Koen Station on the Inokashira Line from Shibuya. Head west through the park once you get out of the station.

Inokashira Park in Kichijouji is a lovely spot, even when the cherry blossoms aren’t blooming. At Hanami time the park is awash with thousands of merry-makers as they picnic and drink the warm spring days away under a sea of pink.

Inokashira Park is build around a man-made lake and the cheery blossom trees (over 500 of them) all arch over the water to completely surround the lake in pink trees. The trees reflect on the still water of the lake and this adds to the beautiful scene. Even after the blossoms have fallen it is beautiful because the blossoms form a pink blanket which covers the whole lake. Kichijoji is at the other end of the park so you can always take in a bit of karaoke or a restaurant afterwards.
