Infomapjapan, run by a vancouver publishing company, is a Japan travel site with loads of information on the best sightseeing spots in Japan, including information on onsens, accommodation information, maps, optional tours and more. Infomap is also a free magazine providing information on Japan which comes out quarterly. I recommend grabbing a copy if you are a visitor to Japan.

Dannychoo.com is one of the best known blog sites on the web. It is run by Daniel Choo who was born in England but has been living in Japan since 1999. The site gets an incredible 2 million users/month and has an anime/Japanese figurine focus, but also includes loads of intersting articles and photos on Japan daily life and subculture.

Engrish.com is a great site for relieving stress and having a few laughs at the expense of poorly written Japanese. There is a never-ending stream of Engrish (or Japlish) in Japan and you have to wonder why they don’t have a native speaker check beforehand?
